ORIGINCHAPTER 01
It started with a dropout.
Conrad Academy is a real school — registered with the state of California, just built and run by one person instead of a district. It's what happens when you stop waiting for permission to learn the things you actually care about. No classrooms that only face one direction, no administration between you and the work — just curiosity, followed all the way down, and a record of what came out of it.
This site is that record. Everything on it is real work, made by one person, in public.
PHILOSOPHYCHAPTER 02
It's not about what's taught. It's about what's learned.
A teacher, a video, a textbook — none of it means anything if nothing actually sticks. If I'm not interested, that's not on me, that's usually on the teaching. I've come to think most of what passes for "teaching" is really just someone enjoying the sound of their own lecture, without ever checking whether anything landed on the other end. So I look for whatever's actually engaging and whatever's actually useful, and I skip the rest. Two things decide if something's worth my time: is it fun, and is it common sense. Not whether it's on a syllabus.
VALUESCHAPTER 03
What C-O-N-R-A-D actually stands for.
Six letters, one instinct underneath all of them: don't just accept the room you were handed. Courageous enough to go after what I don't know yet, not just what's safe. Open-minded enough to question the obvious answer instead of accepting it. Nurturing my own weird ideas instead of copying someone else's homework. Resilient when something doesn't work — which is often, and that's fine. Accountable for whatever I put out here, good or bad, because my name's actually on it. And Driven enough that half-effort was never really the point.
WHERE IT HAPPENSCHAPTER 04
School is wherever the work gets done.
There's no building. Some days it's a warehouse turned workspace, some days it's a beach club at sunset, some days it's just a hotel lounge with decent coffee and wifi that holds. The hours are technically 24/7, because ideas don't really care what time it is, and neither do I when I'm actually into something.
WHO'S BEHIND ITCHAPTER 05
Just one person, actually building it.
No faculty, no funding round, no brand deals — just a real, registered school, run by one person, honestly. My dad signs off on it and pushes me when I need pushing, but the work — the site, the writing, the projects — is mine. If something here is wrong or incomplete, that's because it's still being built, not because it's pretending to be finished.
